Mi Primera Potencia

I have had a few request in the past to make stems however being unfamiliar with them and the fact that there are so many out there in the market place it never really interested me. But when David from Murcia, Spain ask me to make him one to replace one that had broken I thought it was about time to give it a shot so a little straight wall tubing and a couple of pinch-bolts later and here it is. Still need to cut the grooves and put some paint on it so check back for the finished result. Hola David. Gracias por darme la oportunidad. Un saludo a mis amigos en Espana! Chao.

   

        

Eric's Crosser

Here are some shots of Eric's frame all finished before paint. Once again I am not a photographer, I think I need a new camera. Anyway the frame is dialed in and tips the scales at 3.3 lbs. Check back in a few days to see it after Ace has laid down some paint on it. Couple of weeks away from cross season and you can smell the pain coming.

Its Gonna Be Light

Here are a couple of photos of Eric's CX'er after I finished brazing it up yesterday. Gotta stick a couple of braze-ons on it, clean up the welds, and get it to the painter. I got this feelin Eric is itchin to race. Hang loose and keep training Eric, it's coming.

Curvy Rear-end

Everyone loves a curvy rear-end. Stays are in place so let the brazing commence. I can't wait to see what this thing weighs. I don't think titanium will be any lighter.

Pain Party!

Yep, you guessed it, cyclocross season is just a handful of weeks away and I know some people already "chompin at the bits" to get on the starting line. This is the start up of a new cross frame for Eric, a California based cross racer. This is gonna be a tight package built with OX Platinum on the main triangle and for clearance we are using some S-bend chain and seat stays. The down tube is a super-light 31.8mm and is as light as an S3 down tube. With an effective 52cm top tube and a 50cm seat tube this may be the lightest cross frame that I have ever built, we'll just have to wait and see what the scales say. Anyway, this is a pure, straight-forward cross racer, nothing extra hanging on that could slow him down. Build it strong, build it light, build it right! Stay tuned for more.

First International Order

Here is a frame I am finishing up for Chihiro, a Japanese road racer. This was my first international order so I was pretty stoked to be building it for him. Its a pretty straight-forward road racing frame built with OX Platinum tubing and a wishbone seatstay. It also contains an integrated head tube and one of my integrated seatposts made by local Mountain Home machinist Bob Davis. Chihiro decided to go rock-solid and get the matching steel fork as well. This thing has crit racing written all over it. Check out that white Avocet O2 Ti racing saddle, where can you buy one of those? Is that a red one also? My butt has been sitting on an O2 for 20 years. I have 7 of them in all different flavors and I am hoping thats enough to last me the rest of my life, they are getting harder and harder to find. Anyway, a MEECH will be on top of Mount Fuji before too long. Stay tuned for the paint job. Chao.

MEECHcross Ready!

This is Brad's 'cross bike after Doug and friends from Poppa Wheelies Bike Shop in Russellville, AR got done with the build. If it rides as good as it looks then we can say mission accomplished. Thanks for all the help from everyone on this. Brad, Poppa Wheelies, Bob Davis Machining, Ace's Wild Custom, Edge Composites, and a couple of others helped make this one come together. Good job everyone!

Berryman's Custom Carbon CX'er

I finally got Brad's frame finished and back from paint and it was totally worth the wait. Paul from Ace's Wild Custom knocked out a killer paint scheme just winging it from a couple of ideas by Brad and the clearcoat over the carbon tubes makes them look like black glass in the sunlight. Check out that hint of red on the tips of the tribal flames. Oh dude, this thing is just my size too. Its sitting in the spare room and occassionally I find myself drooling over it like a hound dog in a meat market. If you go back to some older posts where I was building this thing you know that it started out as a complete steel frame and when I took the hacksaw to it there was no turning back. This thing is a dream come true for me as a builder because its the style of frame that I first imagined building but it took me quite a while to get the necessary experience. Anyway, I can't wait for Brad to get it built up and give me the low-down on how it rides and feels. Along with the custom paint scheme we have an integrated-style headtube with an FSA Cross specific headset, Edge Composites cross fork, Paul Taylor Carbon Cross seatstay, handmade integrated seatpost done by my good friend Bob Davis with the rear brake cable running through the seat tube, and even the triple-stop on the top tube is custom. I hope to be riding one similar this fall. Cross season is just around the corner. Pain Party!

El Chava

I finally got me a road bike built. We painted it in Hot Rod Black. It hits the scales at 17.3 lbs right now but I still have a couple of cards to play before its totally done. I was shooting to be in the 16s but I think that bronze head badge put me over. Oh well, its worth it.

Handmade in the USA

Here is an older frame that never got painted so I just threw some custom decals on and a little clearcoat. I plan on taking it to a show soon just to show some of the craftsmanship.
