Here are a couple of pics of Bill's custom MEECH that he built up beautifully with some of my favorite components, Campy Chorus. These colors look great together and the Campy compliments the frame just that much more.
He also included a very complimentary letter telling me about how the bike rides and it left me feeling stoked so much about steel frames that I'm thinking about hanging my carbon frame up for a while just as soon as I get an extra steel frame to ride. I'm way overdo to build myself an old-school (I hate that phrase) cyclocross bike. I just can't get into disc-brakes unless it's on a mountain bike. I'll build 'em for you if that's what you want but as far as myself goes, I was plenty happy with the way bikes were a few years back. We all like different stuff though and cycling has given us our options over the last few years.
Hi Dimitri,
Hope all is well.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Things have been hectic. I did just get back from a very nice ride on the Meech.
First, I’m really pleased with the ride. It is about as nice as any bike I have ridden. I always pick out the roughest roads I can find for a new bike and it handled all obstacles I threw at it and remained smooth as silk. Steering was more precise and quicker than I thought it would be which is a nice surprise. It is also lighter than expected.
I love the fork and the tube diameters. Different to look down and not see large tubes under you. Nice and classic. The steel is so quiet. I like carbon and have had many frames made with it. There always seems to be a creak here or there. With the steel all is silent but the tires. Can’t say enough about the paint. Looks thick, feels thick in a great way.
Nice fit considering it was not made for me. I’ll keep you on the short list when I want a custom steel bike built for me. I’m glad I got this one.
Thanks,
Bill Miller
Thanks for rolling on a MEECH Bill! I appreciate it.
